Screen Manager
Manage the computers by your TVs from Rock. See every screen's health, change what it shows and when its screen turns off and on, and restart or reboot it, without walking to the TV. It works with the free Works In All Things Kiosk.
Features
-
Add a screen in one step
Give it a name, a campus and location, the address to show, and its time zone, rotation, resolution, screen times and nightly restart. Rock gives you one command to paste on the new computer: it installs Kiosk with those settings and links it to Rock, with no questions.
-
See every screen
Online, offline or needing attention, what it's showing, whether its screen is on, its Kiosk version and when it was last seen, updated live. Cards at the top count them and filter the list.
-
Each screen's health
The browser and whether it's running, the screen, whether its settings are applied, the computer and distribution, IP addresses, uptime, free disk space, memory, temperature and the last problem in its log.
-
Remote actions
Restart Browser, Screen Off, Screen On, Reboot and Update Kiosk, on one screen or several at once, with each screen's recent actions and what came of them.
-
Change times in bulk
Set the screen off and on times or the nightly restart of several screens at once. Their other settings are kept.
-
Permissions that fit
Give staff Restart Browser and Reboot without letting them change settings. Only people with Edit can add, change or remove screens.
-
Works with Signage
When the Signage plugin is installed, pick a screen's address from your Signage displays. Screen Manager works just as well without it.
-
Safe by design
Screens contact Rock; Rock never connects to them, so no ports are opened on your network. Rock can send only the settings above and the five actions, never commands, and every computer proves itself with its own token.
-
Not check-in
Screen Manager has nothing to do with Rock check-in. It never touches Rock's devices, and its computers never appear in check-in settings.

How it works
-
Add the screen in Rock
On Screens, click Add and fill in its settings. Rock shows a single-use code (it works once, for 24 hours) and the command to paste.
-
Paste the command on the computer
On a computer with Linux installed and on the network. It installs Kiosk with the screen's settings and links it to Rock. A computer that already runs Kiosk is linked with
sudo kiosk manage. -
Manage it from Rock
Within a minute the screen shows its address and is Online. From then on it reports its health every minute and picks up new settings and actions.
What gets installed
- Admin Tools › Installed Plugins › Screen Manager, with the Screens page and a page for each screen.
- Two tables (screens and their recent actions) and the API screens call, under
/api/v2/plugins/com.worksinallthings/screenmanager.
Only plugin files are added, and core Rock is never modified. The package includes a complete uninstall script.
